cd compatibility with windows

    hey,
    i'm trying to copy my cds onto my pc so i dont have to take them all to uni, however i came to some dylan cds which won't even play on my pc, i get an error message saying "that it may be using a different format, not compatible with windows" is there any way round this??

    If you're trying to store CD's on your hard disk, my advice to you would be to convert them to a compressed format such as MP3. You shouldn't experience any problems playing Dylan from a store bought CD, but if it's a home made CD then it may very well require you to obtain a codec that will allow it to be played.

    I've given you a link below to what is a really fine freeware audio ripper. It can extract the contents of your CD and then compress it into Mp3. I would also like to recommend that you download and install the lame dll.
