Hi - had a look for this in forums but didn't see what I was looking for. I have several cd-rom images on my HD that I want to put on disc. My question - do they have to go on cd-r discs? Can I put several cd-images on one DVD such that i retain full functionality? I want it to look proper when I put the DVD-rom in the drive and be able to navigate all menus I would've had on individual cds. Any help would be really appreciated. Ptwenty
Hi there, You cannot burn a CD-R image to a DVD-R, in a sence where you will burn the image CONTENT to a DVD-R. It will want to have a CD-R as the destination. The only way to do that, would be to extract all the data from the image file 1st (Or mount image in a Virtual Drive) then copy the data from there to a DVD-R as data. BUT, you can burn a DATA DVD, keeping the images (.iso / .bin) as files. Then you can probably fit 6 of those images on 1 DVD-R. Then you can burn them to CD-R in the future, OR use Daemon Tools v3.47, mount the image file in your Virtual CDROM and use it when needed. When you are done, unmount the image, and store your DVD-R.
As long as your files are images, (.iso or .bin/.cue or /nrg or .ccd.) You can then burn them to dvd-r and when you want to install yo run a particular image, Just mount the image off of the dvd-r using alcohol 120% or deamon tools. When you wnt to run one of the programs. I have done this with my muli-cd PC games, (I.E. Doom3,csi miami, vampire bloodlines, myst 3,morrowind GOTY) There are other I have done also works no problems.
Thanx for replies, folks. I might end up having to make a DVD-rom with all the images on it (in folders, as archived data) like you said. I hoped there'd be a tool similar to Craxtion (for Xbox) that allowed me to create a multi game iso. I was wanting the equivalent to make a multi-iso-iso. If it can't be done, I admit defeat. But once again, I'm grateful to cougar_ii and Jizmak for taking the time!!! Ptwenty
