Ive had a couple of cds for some years now and they worked fine last time played some years ago, dont know the brand but the cds are not physically damaged but now they wont play on either a pc or standalone cd player, any ideas please?
Since you have not wished to add more information, I can only guess you left the disks so sunlight could destroy the undersides. The dye is light sensitive. Burned DVDs are very sensitive to sunlight while CDs are less so. Burned disks should remain in boxes or jackets when not used. If you must leave them out, leave them with the burned surface down. Scratches will hurt the disks far less than light. The tops are coated with a reflective coating to protect the dye.
