I recently installed a DVD-BURNER and since I've been unable to burn cd-r properly for my car. I am using the same brands of cd-r as before, and they do work on my computer and home stereo. BUt for some reason, it has become incompatible with my car. If you guys need any more info, I'd gladly supply it. I just hope someone can help me fix this problem, or at least point me in the right direction. Thanks.
Hi, Have you tried burning slower? I found that for the Pioneer deck in my truck I had to knock the read speed down to 8X for them to play well
Hi. Thanks for the suggestion. I think that might be the problem. However, I tried using NERO DRIVESPEED to lower the read speed but my dvd-ram drive only detects maximum read speed (I'm guessing the installation company I went to put in that setting). Is there any other programs/ methods I can lower my read speed or do I have to take it back to the store? Thanks again.
Hi, The read speed should be fine at max it's the write speed that counts. Are you not able to lower the write speed either?
I have burned cds at write speeds 4x and 8x and still no look with the car stereo system. The only disc that has worked with this new burner was a test disc i burnt using windows media player that held 2 tracks. Anything close to normal tracks (17-20) hasn't worked. I just wish I could pinpoint the problem. If there are any methods that can help detect the problem, let me know. I have loads of cd-r to test things out and I don't mind turning them into coasters.
What make/model burner is it? Firmware version? It's possible that your new burner doesn't perform as well on the particular brand of CDR you used before. If you have other brands lying around you may give them a shot and see what happens.
