CD Remains blank after burning divix file

    Hi,

    I used Nero 6.3.0.0 to burn Divix files I downloaded with MLDonkey. The burning process completes successfully (Data CD). Not a single error.

    When I open the CD, there is NOTHING on it. When I look at the propoerties, I can see the space of the avi file used and only a couple of megs free. It's like the file is there but nothing was written in the TOC.

    When I burn other smaller files. It works perfectly which means the hardware / software settings are ok.
    However when I try to burn the same files with other burning software, the same thing happens. Therefore the problem must be with the files.

    Also, the file are always 'in use by another program' when I try to move them or rename them. I've never seen this before. Any idea on how to ensure the files are free during the burning process?

    I've gone through some thinking process. Maybe it can help you solve my problem:

    - The files are in use when I try to burn? But then I should get an error messge from Nero.

    - The files are too big and cannot somehow be handeled? But I don't think it is the case otherwise I would get an error message.

    - The files are too big and the TOC cannot be written? However, I think the TOC is written at he begining of the CD...

    - The files I try to burn on CD are somehow protected ?



    Has anyone ever experienced this? Please post your comments / ideas /solutions.

    1) Does the DivX file play ok on your hd?
    2) Do you have DivX 3.x, 4.x& 5.x installed on your pc?

    Hello,

    Thanks for your help. Yes the Divix works fine on HD and I have Divix Version: 5.1.1.

    I tried burning via Nero image but did not work. Then I used Burn at Once to create iso image. It did not work either. Furthermore I think I blew my CD Burner because the CDs were empty afer the burning process. Anyway I even tried to mount the iso on Nero's virtual CD drive and make a copy on the fly. Results were negative.

    Finnaly I threw my old HP burner and just bough the latest LITEON 52x... Surprisingly I have absolutely no problems now. I can create data CD with the Divix files and it works... Some things I will never understand... I can now play movies on my home Divix player.
