CD Stomper / Ripping issues

    i have no prob with my current "backing up" process, except one : when I attempt to "rip" a DVD with a DVD Stomper label on it...

    I have no issues when using DVDShrink>NERO to back up DVDs without these lables, but when I attempt to try with Lables I get the following error when I click "back-up:...it runs about to 64% then :

    CDvdCSS::Read Failed!
    The reason is : Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

    I get similar issues with DVDEncyptor as well as SmartRipper

    any help/suggestions??

    Hi Dan,
    That cyclic redundancy error almost always means something wrong with the disc, try removing the labels if there is no damage and they are clean. The drive you are reading the discs with seems a little sensitive.

    removing the label is near impossible, i just find it odd that all the "labeled" have probs while others dont. I may trim off about 1/4 inch off the circumference of label and see if that yeilds better results...

    Don't put labels on, EVER !!. BTW, you don't need to rip a backup, a 1:1 copy will do.
