My computer's disc tray constantly keeps opening and closing for no reason. Its very spooky. I tried reinstalling the driver (after uninstalling). Then I tried to disable the hardware, and it still keeps opening and closing randomly and frequently. What sorts of things can cause this problem? Do you have any suggestions? Maybe the wiring is a problem? It was working fine then one day it suddenly happened. Oh and I scanned for viruses with AVG and found none. I keep AVG updated too.
Just do as my boss did while I was working one day. As the disc tray ejects grip firmly with right hand, while applying pressure to computer case with left hand, jerk with right hand as hard as you can. Please note that this method renders the offensive drive useless.
