Hi, I have a problem and was wondering if someone could help me. this point I think it is the hardware, the drive just has something wrong with it. my cdr had worked fine for over a year now, using xp on my gateway laptop. just about a week ago, it started giving me errors and i started increasing my coaster colletion rapidly. i get different error messages (thats what led me to think its hardware, coupled with the fact that i uninstalled, reinstalled nero, aspi, burning with 4X only, tested rive with nero and roxio, no errors with simulation mode either)

    "qsi dvd/cdrw sbw 161
    write error
    qsi dvd/cdrw sbw 161
    invalid write state

    qsi dvd/cdrw sbw 161
    could not perform end track

    and here is the log

A couple things to look into:
-Check the media(disk) brand to see if it is supported by your recorder.
-Check for any firmware upgrades to your recorder.
    - The worst case scenario is that your recorder has a hardware problem and looses the track focus or something similar. However this is the worst case . You will need to get a new recorder if this is the real case.
-Also try turning off Antivirus software. Lets face it: Nero doesnt like antivirus software shields enabled when writing.
