how do i get to put mp3 songs on this phone everytime i plug in the USB to the cect p168 it says there is malfunctions ...anyone know how i make it work?
I just kept trying, and it eventually worked. I've been more successful by keeping the phone on and then selecting "yes" for turning the phone off for data transfer.
ooh...when i leave the phone on and but the usb cable in it asks me if i want to REBOOT FOR MASS STORAGE? im supposed to click no right cuz wouldnt that like delete everything on my phone?
Click yes, because it will shut the phone off and allow windows to access the flash drive. (storage card)
oOkay thanks I will try that hopefully it will work this time...if not than thats gonna suck ...hey but would u happen to know why my phone is on headset mode the whole time? And i cant switch back to general or outdoor or indoor for like the user profiles..its soo weird...if u dont know thats alright just wondering
These phones definitely are not what they are advertised as. Lots of malfunctions. I have no idea what to tell you about the headseat issue. Thats a new one for me.....
Does anyone know how to download MP4 videos to the CECT P168 phone....Im having problems... I have downloaded MP3 music to the phone, now Im trying to download videos or movie clips... I downloaded the iphone converter, but its not working right...Its downloading the videos but when I go to play it, it says invalid video and wont play it.... Whoever knows how to download movies or videos please tell me how and if I need to download a software just let me know.... Jermaine

the first time i plugged my p168 in, it froze my computer. than my computer wouldn't start!!! i tried everything and nothing worked for 2 days, so than i unplugged my computer and took it to the doctor. he plugged it all in and it worked all the sudden! WTF??
so anyways, what did i do when i got home? yup, plugged it in again. this time it worked, like a charm. no problems AT ALL.
Hello Afterdawn great site I have been meaning to (re)join for years I got one of these phones this afternoon (nice Xmas surprise) so I thought I would jump into this thread and add something for those getting unaccepted file format I got the same respone from trying to play mp4 files also. use a 3gp h263 amr mobile video setting to create a short clip to test. this worked great for me you can probably set the mp4 file to use the h263 coding just as easily in something like AutoGK (I just havent tried this yet).. I just stumbled on to 3gp using alive converter
tried a few ways to use the mp4 but none work with this phone can anyone point to a thread on making video for the cect p168 ? found one! I use a little easy to use program called Sothink 3gp converter http://www.sothinkmedia.com/3gp-video-converter/. Try this, I think you'll be satisfied.
Hi every one, my problem here is when I download more than one video to my phone. When downloading the second or the newest videos, it plays the videos but not at the same time with the audio. I have the P168 (new version -Quad Band) and I convert the videos with: "MEDIA-CELL" and "ANY VIDEO CONVERTER" (MP4 AND 3GP) Anyone can help?
Well I feel pretty stupid then because I downloaded the free version of this and wouldn't have a clue how to use it.. I'm one of those people who need step by step instructions... does anyone know anything else for someone who is not so computer smart?
Here we go, these are some settings for the MP4 files I make for this phone The properties are from one program I use to convert called 'FLV to AVI MPEG WMV 3GP MP4 iPod Converter' but can be applied to what ever converter you may be using. For out-of-sync video: Use the program from the link below to check the frame rate and match it with the video file you are converting from* http://www.headbands.com/gspot/v26x/quick_start.html I hope the videos all go a bit smoother for you that way * if you have trouble accessing the files on the phone via USB try bluetooth if you have it available (it will fairly slow at about 50kps- depending how far the devices are awy from each other) These are the settings I found for getting it going: Entertainment->Extras->10 Bluetooth power->on setting->Authentication -off ftp setting->shared folder (check this correct, mine is D:\Recieved) ftp setting->Access Rights- Fully Control Then go to: My Devices -> device name-> Inquiry New Device ->ok-> device*name ->Bond (Pair) (make sure the other device it ready to go) passcode is :0000 Enter Passcode on both devices You will be back at My Devices My Devices -> device*name->Connect->FTP Profile->Connect that will bring up your file browser in the designated directory of the other device.
