I just bought a Chameleon modchip with solderless adapter and installed it in my xbox (v1.2) and when i go to turn it on it resets two times and then flashes red and green and nothing happens after that. If i turn it on and take out the AV cable then it doesnt flash red and green it just stays green after reseting twice. I was wondering if it had something to do with the AV cable or something else?
The flashing red and green and 3 reboots is either a bad bios or bad connection to the LPC of the motherboard. Try changing the DIP switches to boot from another bank. RustyDog
Put back the DIP's how they came stock. It's a bad LPC connection.Or ur not connection to D0 point right. Add some water or alcohol to a cloth and clean the LPC points. That could help.Make sure ur solderless adapter is touchin down right and that it screwed down good.
i cleaned the LPC holes and i got another screw so i could tighten the adapter down better but it still does the same thing. i still dont know what im doing wrong.
When you remove the chip does the xbox boot up normal? Sims thats theres no BIOS's on the Banks that ur selecting.Where did you get ur chip from. Some places say that they test all the chips to see if they work. You might all so want to look into the D0 point thing. This might be a dum question but are you placin the cham chip on the adapter right?
Yea when i remove the chip the xbox works fine. I got it from gamebuy.com and yes i am placing the chameleon on the adapter. it lights up blue so i know that im doing that right. so if its the bios thats the problem then what should i do?
