the kids watch movies on there portable dvd players but there seems to be a small problem with the audio volume on these players, there much to quite, what software can i use to increase the volume on the file? preferably something thats quick and easy to use. thanks
They either aren't selecting 2 channel audio stream (stereo) assuming the dvd has two audio streams (the other will be 5:1 which appears to have a lower volume like your experiencing) or you need to rip the dvd & downmix the audio to stereo or mp3 or increase the audio gain, well thats all i can come up with as to why
there isnt any choice on the dvd players for audio, is there not some software i can run the xvid files through and increase the volume whilst keeping picture quality?
VirtualDub, load/drag-in avi file. Click Audio > Full processing mode. Click Audio > Volume. Check the box and bump the volume up (300%) OK. Click on the 'Output' playback button (bottom left, second triangley thing). If satisfied, click Audio > Compression and select a codec (Lame MP3 48000, 128,cbr) stereo. Click Video > Direct stream copy. Click File > Save as avi. http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Lame-MP3
