First option is to edit a suitable bios (If you are using evox bioses, evtool is tool and if you are using X2 bioses, you can use the XBtool) for your chip and flash your edited bios. But this can screw up your xbox if you are not confident on how to do it. But if you flash your bios correctly, the LED i.e "ring light colour" will be permanent. The other option is that you can make latest XBMC dashboard as your default dashboard and change your LED from the settings of you XBMC. But the change will only work untill and unless you use the XBMC dashboard. By the way which mod-chip do you actually have???
