Hello, hello...I am having a huge problem, and I have been ripping my hair out for days searching for an answer...downloading lots of trial software, but nothing is helping me...

I have a bunch of avi files which I need to back up on dvd-r, however, their resolution is 352X480, which means that some of the picture is getting cut off my tv screen. I have tried River Past, but it does not seem to recognize my avi files for some reason...I have tried TMPGenc...but the same problem occurs...please help me...is their any other way...?

If half the picture is being cut off on your screen, it shouldn't be caused by the resolution (at least not if it's 352x480). Not only is it a perfectly compliant DVD resolution, but it's only half the resolution of retail movies (720x480). Besides that, it's also a strange resolution for an AVI although with the right codec it's certainly possible. What codec are the AVIs encoded with and how are you converting them? Also, how are you determining the resolution of the AVI?
