    Well, whilst digging around the internet when I was bored, i found this...
    The Chapman Stick

    Now, being a musician myself, I thought it was pretty cool.. So, in an attempt to hear one being played, i turned to YouTube. And low and behold I found videos of it being played (well, what did ya expect.. "your search matched no results", yeah, as if)!
    Check out this guy...

    It has an amazing sound.. Very ambient. Looks like a massive guitar frettboard with one huge @ss pickup I spose.

    Anyway, being such a parculiar instrument, I am intrigued as to..
    a) has/had anyone heard of one before?
    b) does anyone own/play one?

    Anyone..? :-D

    Theres a surprise.. I remember it well. Never took off due to the technical ability required to play.
    More of a cross between a guitar and a keyboard. Not exactly easy. I never saw one in the flesh.
    There was a guitarist who used the same playing technique.. sorry, can't remember his name.

    To relieve symptoms of busted balls soak in a tub of ice water for 20 minutes...

    @janrocks

    Tony Levin played the stik with King Crimson on Elephant Talk and a few others. Truly a unique sounding instrument.

    Looks and sounds like an electric 12 string with a wider neck. Music was awesome!
