Heya, I've been trying to work out how to burn copy's and every time the dvd has failed to play on my dvd player (panansonic dvd-rv31). Only one dvd this pc has made has worked on the player. I'm using cheapo memorex dvd-r's, so i'm thinking thats possibly why! So i'm wondering what to get, should I get DVD-R's or DVD+R's and booktype them to DVD-ROM? http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers.php?DVDnameid=241&Search=Search&#comments according to that my player should play +r's fine. So do you think I should order these? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Verbatim-4-...1_1/026-2356263-7622849?ie=UTF8&s=electronics (P.S my dvd writer: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdwriters...m=&bdrom=&orderby=Name&hits=50&Search=Search) Cheers
You answered your own question there I would try burning with Ritek, Tayo Yuden and Verts. They are good brands and work always Change the media and the rest will work out
More information is needed to determine what the problem is. Panasonic DVD players are finicky, and early models refused to play any +R discs for political reasons, not technical reasons. You can record DVD+R discs and change the book type to DVD-ROM, but only if your recording drive supports that. It may be safer to start with DVD-R media. What recording drive are you using and what firmware version is it? If the firmware is out of date, that may be the problem. It is in very many cases.
my Panasonic DVD recorder plays -R 100% fine, and any +R (that are booktyped to dvd-rom). any other players i use are happy with both types of discs (some players even play my DVD-RW's but i digress). ..what burning software are you using ?
I changed my burning process and finally got some DVD-R's working! Seemed DVD-Shrink saves the day! But I still need some new media as i've run out, should I get those verts?
@Creaky Thanks for the correction. It must have been late and i hadn't double checked my post for spelling errors.
