I recently brought a xbox(second hand)upon opening it,I found it had been chipped,but the Do wire to the chip was missing,I have been trying to find out what type of chip it is,but there is no writing on it to say what it is,only the two chips on the mod chip have writing,it has been quick soldered in-would it be easier to remove the chip and re-chip it!
You should take a picture of the chip and we'll see what we can come up with. If you find out what chip it is, and you know where the D0 wire goes onto the chip, then I would try that and see if it works still. Otherwise, getting another chip would not be a bad idea, becuase then you know exactly what you've got inside. Of course I would suggest the Xecuter or Xenium chips!
i have removed the unknown chip and invested in a xenium,I think in the long run i'm gonna be better off- thanks for your help
