    Hi all,

Please could anyone help me as my computer has rebooted and then it ran CHKDSK and it has deleted about 40GB of my files from my D drive.

Is there any way that i can regain these files.

    Thank you.

if you are running windows xp, just do a system restore and go back to the day before you lost your files and you should have your files, unless there was a problem with the files, good luck

    Hi,

i did a system restore to about a week before the files were deleted but no luck, before the files were deleted the computer restarted and CHKDSK ran on its own and it was saying that files were corrupted so it was deleting the files.

    Thanks.

you could try a file recovery tool, there is one called "recover my files" that seems pretty good.

Does anyone know of any other Undelete utils that are any good?

If the files where corrupt, i assume checkdisc erased them with a low level format, which means they're gone for good.

Ghosting a drive isn't as bad as low level format ddp...

I just downloaded a free trial of (recover my files) and i have run the program and i can now see the files that were lost including all of my wedding photo's but the program will not let me save the files that it found unless i buy it but i am completely broke after buying all the christmas presents so does anyone know where i can find a crack for this program?

    Thank you.

Ok, you just made a REALLY big mistake...
Asking for cracks and such is NOT ALLOWED here.
I suggest you edit that out before the mods see it.
