I have opera recordings I wish to share with others. As there are a lot of them it is easiest for me to share them as MP3s on data CDs so I can get a lot on one disc. I have these recordings as one complete .wav file per audio CD (generally between 60 and 85 minutes per track) and have inserted markers with Sound Forge and then used Nero 6 to split them into tracks for the audio CD. The resulting audio CD is fine and plays seemlessly from one track to the next. So far so good. Next I'm loading this CD back onto the computer with Nero so I now have the recording in a number of separate tracks as opposed to one long file. I'm then converting them to MP3, and loading the MP3s into Nero to create an audio disc from the MP3s. I've done the usual 'disc at once' and 'no pause between tracks' business. The resulting CD now often has a little click or blip (but not a gap) as one track moves on to the next, whereas it was previously seemless. Is there any way this can be got round? Apart from being annoying it is an imperfection which spoils the recording. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Chris.
Further to my original message, as an experiment I have now taken the MP3 files I made and converted them back to .wav files so that I might reverse the process and combine them back to one long file, just to see if this would still result in seemless joins. It doesn't! The clicks that appeared when playing the CD are now present in the .wav at the point where files join. This never happened if I ever joined two .wav files together that had been .wav files all along. C.
Can NOBODY help me with this??? It's a major stumbling block for me and I was sure one of you experts would be familiar with my problem and have a resolution for me ... Please help if you can. Thanks. Chris.
it sounds like the chopping into separate tracks from 1 file makes the clicks? maybe got over by useing fadein/fadeout on all.
Thanks, I will try this, but it will only be a good solution if the fades are not evident as the music must play continuously. Also, though, it only appears to be the MP3 process that adds the clicks - an normal audio disc of one long file chopped up via markers with Nero creates separate tracks which run together seamlessy.
