I need a specific 10sec clip of audio from a VOB, how do I do this please!? All the software I found assumes I want the whole soundtrack ripped rather than a specific section/range. NB: I can provide the VOB and the start and length/end time of the range of audio to extract/demux.
You can rip the audio from the scene using DVD Decrypter then extract (isolate) the 10 sec part you want using [bold]Audacity[/bold]. You first have to turn the AC3 or DTS file into a Wav or Mp3 though.
Oh right, thanks diabolos. Do I have to use DVD Decrypter? - as the VOB is already on my HD. Your telling me there is no way to just cut a section of the audio stream directly? I'm guessing this AC3 file will be gigantic..
xilisoft video converter is easy to use. it supports ripping a clip. view the page http://xilisoft.com/video-converter/faq.html to read how to rip clip
What you wnat to do is demux the audio from the VOB on the DVD. I don't think DVD Decrypter can demux a VOB that is on your HardDrive (unless its in an image). I don't know of any software that can do that for that matter. Your better off if you have the source DVD. The Demux audio file should be of either an AC3, DTS WAVE, or LPCM format. Ced
Thanks guylaudio, Xillisoft DVD Audio Ripper trial version worked a treat to grab 10 secs of audio, but it took about 5 minutes to match up the time sequence with that reported from my DVD Player (a shame Xillisoft DAR doesn't have a decent timeframe/seek/preview funciton) and a matter of seconds to 'Encode' the segment to WAV. Cheers!
