I have established that i have a clone starview box but just want to know whether i should install GTRom v4.00 and then the 2.57eE Bin File as i need the codes to autoroll. Any help/tips would be welcome as i have read that they can be fryed if the wrong firmware is installed

To do this you will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F.

    Null modem info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?criteria=L71BT&DOY=2m6

If your pc does not have a serial port you will need a USB to serial port adapter to use in conjunction with the null modem cable.

    USB Adapter info

    http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Modu...erial Adaptor

These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.

All firmware/loader can be found here http://eko.4shared.com/

You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview software folder of the link.

Now select the firmware for your clone box i.e version 257 FIXED which can be found in the 'firmware' folder.

    Updating Firmware

Connect your box and PC with a Null modem cable and switch on the cable box and put it on STANDBY.
(The Starview does not need to be connected to TV to update it with GTROM)

Open GTROM Loader software make sure that you set the correct COM PORT
that matches the one that is being used

Make sure App file only is selected, then click Bin File & browse to the firmware where you downloaded it to on your PC.

Run the GTROM loader by pressing Download and you will see the % progress increase
then Download completed message on your PC.
Wait until you see the DOWNLOAD COMPLETE pop up on your PC before
removing the NULL MODEM CABLE. The Starvi*w will then reboot

Turn off and turn back on , then plug your tv cable and scart back in

    * You should download the Starview PDF guide this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything. This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.

I have a similar question regarding updating starview clones.
I have a starview clone that the sysinfo is showing as v4.00Ee is there any safe way to change to an autorolling firmware? Without bricking the box?

    Hi everyone,

I have a cloned box and have installed the 257Fixed firmware but the codes are not auto changing, they all change apart from the 2nd digit/letter in both the 00 and 01 code in nagravision, is there other firmware i can use or does anyone know what is wrong? I have to call my friend to get the digits everytime it goes off.

Where are you located and what provider are you using ?

Press Menu then 1570 and press the "Set Default Key" , press OK and tune into S*Y Sports and it should auto update for you

Im in Dublin using N*L, tries that no luck. If i leave it on any station it says 'data is being updated' and will go up to 130-230% before the station name comes back on to the bottom as if its about to come on, but then goes back to updating. Any ideas?

Turn it off at the back for a few seconds then turn it back on

Press Menu then 1570 and press the "Set Default Key" , press OK , then go into Nagravision and input the codes below, press OK to save each key data and tune into S*Y Sports and it should update for you

    00 = 05 6D CA 68 FA B2 35 39

    01 = A9 0F 54 81 1C B3 F6 EB

    I have a Star View box (API ver:3.00e_E, Boot ver 7.0, 27 May 2007)

I am in Dublin with N*L supply.

    I loaded the codes
    00 5B 74 36 A3 B2 30 CB 46
    01 54 0D 81 09 F9 6E 17 F9

    and
    00 05 6D CA 68 FA B2 35 39
    01 A9 0F 54 81 1C B3 F6 EB

I can only get a few channels - it has been like this for a few days.
Are there new codes? or is there something I should do?
    Firmware update? how?

Many Thanks - Hoping someone can help

These are the correct and latest codes:
    00 5B 74 36 A3 B2 30 CB 46
    01 54 0D 81 09 F9 6E 17 F9
Make sure you press 'OK' after you input each line of codes to save them.
Also check that your EMU is on,when you enter 1570 look down the bottom of the list and you will see 'Key EMU' check that it's ON if it's OFF switch it to ON by pressing 'OK' on it.

I tried the above codes - but same result.
I can only get a few channels.

Do u know if N*L have changed their codes?

Do I need to upgrade the firmware?

    I am new to this

    Thanks

ok seems like everyboday is in the same boat here Iv got a clone starview box with the updated 257ee firmware from a few weeks ago

Iv looked up and down on the forums here. Iv inputted the new codes (09/04/08) but when I do and store them. i go on any channel i get the updating sign and when its done i get nothing (like everyone else)

but Iv noticed that when i go back to check if iv inputted the right code.

the code has changed (its auto rolled from what iv inputted)

looks like were going to have to wait for the new firmware

has anyone else noticed this ??

Lads/ Lassies for your information the Moderator closed threads here last night because people would not stop posting codes, there is a designated thread specifically for codes please use that one, otherwise we might not be able to update them when neccesary !!!!

If you want codes they are as always here !!!!
