    Dear fellows,

I have been using the paid version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD from slysoft with the LiteOn 1635 16x Writing on my Verbatim 8X disk.
When I do the backup on my MJ DVD Film (CSS protected but no need for any compression by CloneDVD), it took 5 minutes for the processing , but it took more than 50 minutes to burn the DVD (I have set the 8x option on the CloneDVD already)!
What is the problem? My CPU is Pent D 820 with SATA 160GB HD and 1G RAM.

Thanks. I have checked the Hardware and the Device 0 is on Ultra DMA Mode 2 while Device 1 is on IPO, I have only one hardisk, so do I need to uninstall the settings?
Could it be the LiteOn fireware problem which makes it so slow?

What is the usual speed for writing a DVD -R at 8x speed?

    Thanks

Go to Device Manager, find your IDE controllers, REMOVE the driver for your secondary channel,(If that's the channel your DVD Drives are on) Re-Boot. You'll be back to UDMA.

I have checked the device manager, I only got the Mian IDE Channel under ATA/ATAPI and Device 0 is DMA on, but Device 1 is on IPO mode!
I have a SONY DVD ROM and a Lite ON 1635 16x DVD R drive in my PC. I am using XP Home. My LiteOn had a cracked fireware to enable all region code, does this matter?

    Any advice?

Yes. I have uninstall and then reboot.
Actually, I search the other forum of LiteOn and was suggested to swap the 2 DVD drives. Putting the LiteOn 1635 as the Master using the Black Plug and SONY DDU 1615 as the slave using the grey plu (also using the jumper to set as described), then uninstall the IDE and reboot, BUT this time:

The LiteOn at (Channel 0) can use DMA, but the SONY at channel 1 use IPO only!
When I use the Clone DVD this time, the inital processing slowed from 5 mins to 30 mins (using the SONY with no DMA) and the DVD writing speed up to 8 minutes (from previously 55 mins with DMA now on).

Any bright suggestions? How can I enable both drives have DMA ? Is it a problem of the BIOS (Intel 945)? or is it due to SONY & LiteOn incompatibility?

Yes, I have tried the above suggestions already and reboot, but I only managed to have one DVD drive at DMA and the other remains in the IPO state!
