im having a problem that is stressing me out. im using the newest versions of clonedvd2 and anydvd, copying a movie, ie SAW, clone goes through the whole process, as if it works perfectly, and then when i go to watch the movie, there is NOTHING on the disk, it did something on the disk because if i try to burn on the disk again, it tells me to please insert a blank disk, look at the disk under my computer and there is nothing there. scratching my head, cant understand it, i have backed up alot of movies, and cant figure out whats going on now. any help would be appreciated
@kofee22, What Blank Media are you using? And, is your burner's firmware up to date? FYI, Blank DVDs are Write Once. Unless they're DVD+/-RW. (Rewriteable). I used the same 2 programs to back my Saw II up with no problems at all. I used Sony DVD+R 8x.MIJ.
@ kofee22 What output method did you use when you processed the movie? It appears that you chose DVD Writer, which writes to the blank from temporary files. By choosing Write To Files initially, would give you a chance to view your movie from the hard disk, with a player such as PowerDVD, to ensure that you are happy with the results of processing,(picture quality, correct audio track, etc.) before you burn to DVD. This approach would especially be preferable if you would be using expensive media. (ie dl @ $2.oo a disk) After determining that your backup files are satisfactory, with CloneDVD2 you would use the Write Existing Data option to burn to DVD. Unsuccesful burns from this point would be directly related to your burner/media, since you have proven your backup files to be usable. As bunnyrip has stated, the usual cause of the problem you are experiencing, is poor quality media.
