    Newbie here, quick question. Does CloneDVD2 allow you to set the target size to keep the burn away from the edges of the DVD5 disc?

    thanks

    I usually set it at 4334 just to be safe, but with Taiyo Yuden you usually do not have to worry about burning too close to the edge and having errors, the disks are too good. But since the edge is were you can get some dings, or smudges I just leave a little room.

    @arniebear

    So in cloneDVD2 your can set it to a number rather than just DVD-5? I can't look it up myself as my system is in repair.

    Thank you

    I just use the default DVD-5 setting and NEVER have a problem with DVD+R or DVD-R. All Great Burns with CloneDVD 2! Using Quality Media that is, Taiyo Yuden made Fuji, Verbatim, Maxell RITEK G05.

    @borhan9

    Great references - thank you. I will have to wait for about a week yet to get my system back, I am on my backup now, no dvd burner, till I get my signature system back. I just ordered another gig of memory and a couple of case fans to assist in keeping the rig cool. I think that it overheated and burned the MB out.

    So until I get it back all I can do is lurk and read and hopefully learn as much as possible about dvd backups.

    Anyway, thank you for your assistance. All of you at this forum seem to be very helpful.

    Question to CloneDVD2 pros out there. Does the program allow compression on menus only leaving video untouched? I prefer not using Shrink.

    NO it doesnt but the quality is MUCH better than shrink and as long as you are using good blank media and arent compressing it to much your picture quality will be fine you can download the program for a 21 day free trial to see how you like it there HKT3020

    and a guide to use the program
