here is the problem, While using CloneDVD2 2.7.5.3 It takes 2 - 3 Hours just to create the dvd files, & about 45 mins to burn. I can use DVD Decrepter to rip in about 28 Mins speeds as high as 4.1x

DVD Decrepter took as long as clone oringinally until I played with DMA settings, but that did not fix clone's problem

I know the drive is fine as I have been swaping it in out with my other computer there it takes on 22 mins to create the dvd files & 8 mins to burn

    The Specs are

    Liteon Drive 451S latest firmware

    1 Gig Of Ram

    Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

Drivers For The Ide Controllers are

    Microsoft
    6/19/2003
    5.0.2195.6717

With all the latest windows updates

The Dvd Burner is on The Primary IDE Channel & it is On Device 1

Transfer Mode is DMA if availble
Current Transfer Mode is DMA Mode

I have tried swapping cables & postion on the mother board for the disc drive

Since Decrypter can rip in good time but Clone can't, sounds like a software issue. I'm not too familiar with CloneDVD, but check over the settings and options there. There might be something a little off there.

[edit] Do you have AnyDVD installed too?

Perhaps you need to update your copy of CloneDVD2. There is a later version.

i have clonedvd2 version 2.7.3.1,and have never had a problem like this,
i would try uninstalling it and do a full install again,
also check whether your aspi layers are functioning properly,
    you have no spy/adware,
    do a defrag

Ah, I had the same problem, go with Hursty's advice, you should check for spyware/adware, check for viruses, make sure you got decent HDD space, then defrag. It worked for me, although I switched to DVD Shrink after I did all of the above.

i am running clond dvd2 trial version,i have burned 13 dvds with no problem,24 to 28 min to decode and 19 to 28 min to burn.im using a p-4 4.40 ghz,2 gigs ram,80 gig hard drive 7200rpm and hp dvd+r 8x media.generally under one hour per dvd,i consider this time reasonable for a fairly good dvd.right now i have four programs im using to copy dvds, trying to come up with better copy progran than what im used to using.

I can't understand why you need 4 programs to backup DVDs..

    All you need is,

    : DVD Decrypter.

    and

    : DVD Shrink.

    Life's Necessities..

I have a similar view as Mik3h, but my choices are AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2.
