I'm getting awful problems with copying, regularly it fails with the error message "bad media....etc" but the media should be good...philips dvd+R, also, when it does finally accept it and burn "correctly/successfully" the disc doesn't work on any of my dvd players, only on the computer....any ideas anyone?
Hi sabre190, Check the link out http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/155431 as you can see phillips is manufactured with the 'dreaded' cmc mag coding. Read through and see the experience folks have had with different types of media. If you are purchasing from a local retailer then I suggest investing in some verbatims or sony (sony usually code out as taiyo yuden considered one of the best). Also might I suggest if you are burning faster than 4x to lower it back to 4x as less chance for errors. Good luck and post back if you need further assistance.
Another thing that will make your backups more playable will be to booktype Your DVD+R media to DVD-ROM. Here is a thread that will explain: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=46559
Use High Quality Media, DVD+R & Booktype to DVD-ROM. High Quality includes, Verbatim DVD+R, Sony DVD+R, Fuji DVD+R (Made in Japan) I never have any problems with AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2. Always Great results!
