alright so my problem is i start my computer, it does its little counter thingy, then pops up a display that says
    "CMOS setting wrong"
    "CMOS display type wrong"
and doesn't load windows, just stops there, i can press the F keys, and F1 brings up a menu of some sort (which was no help, i tried everything on it)...
throught googleing, i have found the likely problem to be the motherboard button-battery needs replacement. but i wanted to make sure. the computer also emits a very loud, low, "BRRRRRRRRRRRR" sound from startup and it never stops, what the hell is going onn??? haha any help would be greatly appreciated!

it isnt my only computer, its just the one that dosnt quite work, thanks in advance!

if can get into the bios, see what the current time & date is as that is the 1st thing that goes.

I think it means you need a new battery, after replacing the battery you may have to change some settings in the bios.Battery should be CR2032 but you might want to double check just to be sure.

well i fixed both problems, the CMOS problem was infact the motherboards battery (which was the type you said it would be), and the loud sound was a malfunctioning fan, i actually flicked it and the sound stopped :p. thanks so very much for the help!!
