I followed the DVDRIP 3.0 and Nero user guide to the letter...everything seemed to be fine, but when I started to play the movie, it when to a black screen that flashed "play" for a couple of seconds, then "stop",,then kicked me back to the DVD Player welcome scree. I used a memorex DVD-R also, I ckd the movie disk (Nemo) and found that there was an AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder...the Audio folder was empty tho... (does any of that matter? i didn't see anything in the guide that even mentioned an audio_ts folder. is there anything else i should have done? here are the steps i took: 1.used dvdrip to rip the software to a folder... 2. renamed the folder to VIDEO_TS 3.used NERO to burn the VIDEO_TS folder after it finished, i tried playing the disk. Thanks,
Sounds like u did everything right, up until u burnt the VIDEO_TS folder into Nero. It matters not what the folder name is that u put your *ready to burn* ifo, bup, and vob files into, since u do NOT burn that folder. Instead, use Nero in DVD-Video mode. In the wizard....over on the left, you'll see the audio and video folders. Ignore the audio folder, but click once on the VIDEO_TS folder to open it up. Next, drag your *ready to burn* files (not the folder they are in) into the red VIDEO_TS folder that Nero provides. Then burn it. If you burnt your VIDEO_TS folder into the folder that Nero provides...your player won't play it. If I misintepreted what you are saying u did...lemme know and I'll try again.
hey Bodene, thanks for replying. i followed your instructions and got the same result: it flashes "play" for a couple of seconds, then "stop",,then kicks me back to the DVD Player welcome screen. the first time i followed the guide: it said to choose DVD_ISO...then drage the Video_TS folder to that icon...you said choose DVD_VIDEO and and drag the files to the VIDEO_TS file Nero provided...that's what I did...it made sense to me cause the actual dvd has an empty AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS with files in them. I used DVDRIP to rip the files to a folder...the bar on the screen was all green. I'm using a plextor 708A...I have no idea why it didn't work.
I was reading past posts and found one that said...Plays on DVD player but not on PC...so I said, why not check it out....both of the burnt DVDs played on my T.V. DVD player, but neither will play on the Pextor 708A.... So I guess both methods worked I actually could care less about watching these on my PC, but I would sure be interested to find out why they won't play on it. Thanks
