Codec checker

    I seem to remember software that checks for proper codecs but my search has come up empty....probably due to my lack of knowledge on this subject.
    I downloaded THE RING and it plays fine in Windows media player but when I burn to dvd with various authoring programs, I get no sound. 1 program even tells me it can't import it due to not having the proper audio something or other. What's the best place to start?

    The opposite sex tends to whine very often that male population simply forgets such thing exists... Ah well, hopefully it solves your problem.

    If the clip you downloaded is in MPEG-1/2 format, you should split it into streams by using TMPGEnc. If its in .avi format, BeSweet might be able to help you.
