Hi. I seem to have some serious problems with Codecs.

Because of my problems with trying to get my AVI converted properly, I have download several codec packs. Div X5, Nimo, ACE. And I finally got it working.

Then, in order to view my SVCD's I download ELECARD MPEG2 decoder. Now I can't get any sound again in my mpgs. So I try to uninstall ELECARD and if I do that, Media Player, Zoom Player or DivX Player will not even open any MPG.

    What should I do?

    bizarre !!!!!!

not sure ,but it seems that when you trying to uninstall elecard , your system disable the media setting .

here what you can do , let the elecard install , and d/l powerdvd . it's the media player that play almost everything correctly :dvd ,vcd .......

file --) properties --) always use this program to open--)powerdvd.

    try this and good luck

Well your biggest problem are the codec packs. Thats the last thing you should do. they throw rogue codecs all over your computer! get rid of the nimo pack especially!! I have about 10 codecs that i downloaded and they play everything perfectly!

    This is what i have

    xvid codec by Vite!
    Mpeg-4 3.11 alpha release codec
    Divx - Ac3 codec
    Radium Mp3 Codec
    TMD Codec

and a few more i cant really remember! lol
