Ok, have all the codecs I require on my laptop and home PC but recently purchased a Mediagate Player to play avis, xvid etc directly to TV. My question is, as these players have no operating system, is there anyway you can encode the occasional file that won't play audio (usually AC3 problems) ? I have no video problems but about 30 % of files (avi, xvid etc) have no audio on this player.

    Thx

The player probably doesn't support the format the audio tracks are encoded in. You would need to re-encode the audio track using a PC - use an AVI editor like VIRTUAL DUB to rip the audio track out and re-encode it as MP3 or [sudder] WAV, and sync it back in again. but go to the website of the company that made your player, you never know they may have a firmware update that fixes the problem (unlikely..)
