Wasn't sure whether this should go in the Mac boards or the PC boards, so I figured I'd post here....anyway, I was wondering whether there is a difference in some of the colors and display settings of Macs and PC's, or if it's just that the settings on my personal computer (a PC) are different. For example, I was looking a a picture earlier today on a Mac where someone was wearing a velvet blazer, which you could clearly see. When I looked at it on my PC though, it just looks like a plain blact jacket...you can't see any of the texture/detail etc. So I guess I'm just asking if there's a way that I can see pictures like the one I described, with the same quality on my PC as on a Mac. different resolutions, graphics cards, monitors, and connections all contribute to the quality of the image, the single biggest factor being the monitor. the mac probably has a much higher quality monitor than the pc.
The average mac runs at an amazing resolution. A friend sent me a screen shot that was 1600x something like 1400. Most pc's don't do more than 1280, and slow down if you try to force them higher. Food for thought about the "integrated system" policy adopted with the mac. Mac screenshot They are running some kind of windows on it, but it's a widescreen mac. No more info except it's awesome...
