I tried burning an MPEG file to a disc this morning. Not knowing what I was doing (to an extent) I tried a few different options, etc. All four times it failed to burn. From the glossary about firmware: Sort of a "operating system of the hardware", an embedded instruction set built-in or flashed into a hardware equipment, such as a router, CDR drive, DVD-ROM drive, washing machine, etc. So yes, it deals directly with your drive. Go to the firmware hq: http://www.firmwarehq.com/ and select the drive model that matches yours. Download the most recent firmware update. I would still follow the instruction in that tutorial and uninstall then reboot as your burn log states that DMA is off. If you're still using those CMC MAG's i would still advise getting Verbatim or Sony. In short, update your firmware, reset your DMA, get some good blank media and try again. Post the log if you have additional trouble.
Successfully updated my firmware (thanks again). Followed the tutorial to reinstall my DMA drivers, hit a small snag. Primary uninstalled and re-installed automatically. Secondary did not re-install itself upon rebooting. I attempted to manually do it using Loco's link (rapidshare.com/files/14861593/resetdma.vbs.html) but was told "No resettable ATA channels found. Nothing changed." But, there are no secondary drivers showing up. Any help?
