Hi. I'm facing an occasional ""Communication failure" while tring to burn VOB DVD files. Sometimes the burn proccess is fine, while in other times it fails. I think it fails more if the files are bigger. Here are some details: *Memory: 228M *DMA - on *Nero Burning ROM version: 6.6.0.8 *Burning speed: X4 *TEAK discs. *All other applications on the computer are closed and internet connection is also shut down. *Even the screen saver is disabled. please advise.
Hello. -Are you using a laptop or desktop? -Is your burner's firmware up to date? -Teac aren't very good quality disks. Try Verbatim if you continue having problems. -There's a better version of Nero 6 available, version 6.6.0.18: Package 1: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2: http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe Uninstall Nero and run the Nero 6 Clean Tool before installing/reinstalling another version: http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_CleanTool.html -If you have a desktop, check and make sure the data cable is still firmly attached to the burner and motherboard. - Make sure you don't try to burn too close to the edge of the disk. Limit the target output size to 4400mb for DVD5 disks. -You really have the barest minimum of memory. With this small amount you may run into problems although I have a laptop that burns OK with that same amount.
it seems better now. I have updated the NERO version as you recomended and the last 2 long burns were OK. Thanks for the help.
