My laptop just got a BSOD and after, the computer shutdown. It restarted itself, but nth shows up on the screen and i hear nothing like when the computer turns on normally, there is a light that shows but there is nothing on the screen and no sound. I tried turning off the laptop by holding the power button, then pressing it to turn it on, and nothing. Just like before, the light for the screen is there but nothing is showing up, and no sound meaning that it's not turning on. Sry if this is a bad explanation, but i don't really know how to explain this. Can someone help? Im using windows Vista
Is it still under warantee? If it is, time to get a free replacement. If not, here are a few things to try: 1.) Remove & reinstall ram, if you have two sticks try running it with just one stick, then just the other stick. 2.) Remove hard drive and see if you get the post screen. 3.) Remove any mini-PCIE cards (usualy accesable through a pannel on the bottom) 4.) Open the system up, remove the CPU/GPU cooler, clean out all the dust, put new heatsink paste or pads, rebuild system. If it still does not work, try posting in one of the PC hardware forums; this has nothing to do with windows.
