Hey guys..trying to load some stuff on my comp to find out what viruses I have...will not let me onto the Net and it only really happened after I installed Zone Alarm...is there some sort of setting that is affecting my connection? One other thing..I;ve been thinking about just completely starting fresh and reformatting my drive,,,only prob is that it won't let me click on either "delete partition" or "format",...any suggestions? thanks

Probably something up with ZoneAlarm. This is a common problem with most firewalls, and ZomeAlarm seems to cause the most compatibility issues. I recommend the free Comodo Firewall Pro - though it has its downsides it passes most standard firewall leaktests and has a "scan" feature which you can use. It scans your computer for known programs that access the Internet (no more warnings about Internet Explorer).

Hehehe you can't delete your boot partition! You have to format it using Setup (assuming you have your CD). You can't even do it with the Device Manager - it wouldn't keep your system alive long enough to do so.

I have all my disks....in your opinion, do you think it would just be easier to format? If so, how do I go about doing that from setup? I appreciate the help!

Better not to format... just uninstall ZoneAlarm and see if the problem goes away. See how that goes.

When this problem is solved, I'll get a mod to move this thread since it's not in the right place. Not right now, because it's easier for me (I look here more often).

I'm not going to leave you... it *might* be malware.

Since I'm not allowed to solve your malware problems (don't ask why), I'm going to PM someone who can. Hopefully they will get your problem fixed.
