I am not only a newbie but an oldie as well.
I am computer literate, so that bit's OK, but
I am lost when it comes to all the different formats I see associated with DVD ripping and burning.
All I want to do is to be able to copy a DVD, and be able to play it on a regular DVD player (yet to be bought), connected to my TV.
I assume the DVD player will support whatever it says it will, but is it possible to copy a DVD to DVD format (if it is a format). Or do I have to copy it to a different format, and then convert it to DVD....or what.? I Obviously want to get as close to a perfect copy as the original DVD.
I have yet to see any reference for copying DVD to DVD in any of the millions of software programs out there, so I take it that it can't be done.
Would be grateful for any help.
    Thanks Wooduck

    Hi ya wooduck,

You're among friends, Try DVDShrink along with Nero - Links are below - not too worry, no conversations needed, no education either, 3 mouse clicks and you are there :)

A 30 day, free, fully functional Nero 6 download can be had here:

Make sure both are downloaded before running DVDShrink - you need Nero on your system but for now, you don't know how to use it

Shrink does it for you :)
