I received a compressed file from a friend in Russia that contains a zipped file. I trust the content of this file. When I tried to extract the files I received a message that windows had blocked the file. To open the file the instructions read to right click on the file, select properties and click unblock. There was nothing at the bottom of the dialogue box refering to "Block". I am running XP SP2. I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks!
The built-in compression feature in Windows is really limited. I would try a third-party compression utility such as WinZip (http://www.winzip.com/index.htm) or 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org/).
