I'm wanting to compress a 745MB avi file down to some thing like 350MB.
The reason for this is so that I can fit more episodes of a tv show on one disc. When the file is 700+MB I can only get 4 episodes on a dvd.
But I was given a copy of a dvd once that has 12 episodes and I figured out that the files had been compressed down to about 346MB each - and the quality was perfect!
I tried doing this with winavi batch converter and also in xilisoft converter but both times it either split the avi in two (with one bigger file + one small 5 or 10 minute file) or it was missing the last 10 minutes of the show completely.
I am aware that qaulity may suffer by compressing a file like this, but I'd like to give it a go. Can someone advise if this is even possible and what is the best program to use?

AutoGK can re-encode your AVI to a smaller one.
