is it possible to compress mp3s to fit more onto a disk ie put 42 onto a 700mb disk not in jukebox mode but to play in any cd player.
by this I assume you mean to create a standard audio CD, not an mp3 CD? In that case, no, audio CDs contain uncompressed PCM audio, so there is no way to compress them to fit more audio. HOWEVER, you do have a few options. 1) MOST new burners can do whats called an "overburn", so for example you can burn 83 minutes of audio on an 80 minute CD. 2) They do make 90 minute audio CDRs, so perhaps that will help by fitting a bit more music on a CD.
