Hi people!! Ive just got back from my holidays and recorded loads of footage to camcorder, DV. I used movie maker to put the vids on the pc. I had 4 tapes each 60 minutes long. On the PC they are now AVI's and each is about 10gig. Ive tried to make them smaller, infact i edited 1 through windows movie maker and it came out as 700 meg, but the quality was pants. So i dragged the 10gig avi into divx to dvd, this made it about 1.4 gig and the quality was slighly beeter but no where near the original quality and not good enough to watch. Basically i want the same quality but in dvd format to give to the family.... Anyone shed some light on the best thing i can do?. Oh as well as movie maker i used sony vegas software and it was the same.. Im sure im just missing something really basic, because i find it hard to beleive that this cant be done, or else there be no point having these camcorders on the market =/... As you probably are well aware, im a newb at this. Cheers
