Hello, I have always had success in connecting my fire wire cable to my camera and computer, exporting and importing video via Adobe Premiere 6.0. Unfortuntately, last week this suddenly doesn't work anymore. I get the error : The Dv device is unable for dv control. I have tried various things. I rebooted my computer many times, and still to no avail I keep gettng the same error. I bought a new fire wire cable and I still get the error. I crawled behind my computer and noticed that my fire wire card (texas instruments), port was slightly expanded than the others. I shall buy a new fire wire card and really hope that that is the problem. What fire wire cards do you recommend? Unless anybody else things there might be other problems. However I was wondering what people's experience was with fire wire 1394 cards. How could the port expand like that? I bought my computer from dell, and have had this card for 4 years. I only started using it more this year. My other question, is that, if I do buy a new card. Would it effect the video that I already have on the computer. If I export the video already in the computer to the camera, will it be choppy or anything. Or is that directly related to the software. Please advise. My details of my computer are as follows 800 MHZ Pentium 512 memory 250 gigs windows XP _________________
Maybe you should Try re-installing your Firewire Card by uninstalling and then reinstalling the Drivers for the Card....
Hi there, After running many tests, I have realized that the ieee port on my trv520 sony digital 8 camera, is not working. I have a large number of hi 8mm tapes that i recorded via this camera, and would probably need to buy a new digital 8 camera. 1) Has anybody had any experience with the trv480 camera. And if so is it better than the trv520. 2) What wire do I use to connect my digital 8 sony camera to a mini dv sony camera? can u give me the exact name. For instance can I buy this at bestbuy.com
