I made the thread about the disk boot failure problem last week. i got a new power supply and now it's recognizing my 2 hard drives, but now it boots up to the screen that gives u the option of goin into safe mode, start windows with the last settings that worked etc. when i click on any of them the comp freezes, or it'll act like the xp logo is about to pop up, but it just restartes back to the mobo screen. i even tried to put in my xp cd to repair windows, but when it gets to the blue screen where the option is, it freezes, or gives me an error that says \i376\txtsetup.sif is invalid setup cannot continue. i'm not sure what's wrong now. if any has any patience to bear wit me please lemme know
First things first... Let's start off by getting you the manufacturer's diagnostic disk for the hard drives. You can get them from their site's support pages. Usually they run from a floppy, but most nowadays are CD ISO images you can use to create a CD. When you have them, post back.
If it really freezes before the XP logo, I really doubt if it's a problem with your software. That most likely means that your CD is scratched or dirty. Try borrowing one from someone else and using it.
