my computer has started acting real strange over the past
    couple of hours..

for a while there when i was looking for pictures on google image search, i was unable to right click them as when i did this nothing happened, not even the little timer to show windows is working/busy.

when i persisted in trying to save the pictures by right clicking them, i recieved an error..

then when i tried to open a program it kind of crashed & said it was unable to perform the operation as there wasnt enough free memory..
but i have 2gb corsair twinx xms matching pair ddr400 pc3200 (3.3.3.8 latency timings)!!!

i am once again unable to open any folders/programs etc..
i cant even run my antivirus/spyware programs as a result of this.
i did however manage to get spyware doctor working (when everything was ok for about 2 mins), & im POSITIVE its something bad as when i finished scanning it came up with 30 infections, however instead of allowing me to see & deal with these infections, it makes an error noise & crashes.
even if i try to see the different options in spyware doctor like the
different scanning tools etc, or if i try to update it wont let me.

does anyone know what i can do?

i was only able to write this because i had a web page open..
if i try to open internet explorer or task manager
it wont let me, same goes for opening programs from the start menu, as when i go to all programs, you see the arrows next to the programs name, but the actual program wont display..

    oh, wait.....
thats everything back to normal, but it wont last, itll stay like this for a few minutes, 10 at the most <*.*>

i would REALLY appreciate some HELP here.
    THANKS

P.S i dont understand how i could become infected
as i use adaware 6 pro, avg 7.1 pro, spyware doctor (full),
adaware away, spybot search & destroy, a squared free, a squared hijack free, peer guardian 2, avg antispyware 7.5 (ewido)
    & a few others daily..

i also use nod32, panda antivirus, zonealarm pro, a squared antidialer, 7 rootkit hook analyzer a couple of times a week..
i know i should have zonealarm pro on all the time, but when i install it, it causes me problems from internet pages not being displayed, to programs not being able to update/connect..

P.P.S told you it wouldnt last long, its gone MAD again!!! :-(

THANKS for any help i recieve

    Hey dougal, how's it going?

Sorry for the late reply, been busy around here. :)

You may be having a conflict between all those programs. Are all real-time protections on? Maybe uninstall a couple of them.

Seen your HjT log when you posted last time, but it was clean. Have you run an online scan?

    hi niobis,

i havent run an online scan, but was in the middle of one when it came up internet explorer has encountered a problem...blah,blah,blah.
its stopped doing that now but my internet isnt working properly.
everytime i try to open a web page, it says the page cannot be displayed..

at the bottom of the browser i notice everytime i try to
refresh the page it says something like this:
    error: c\windows\system32\shock.dll

    any ideas?

    cheers mate

Can't find much on that file.

Can you update and run those anti-programs in Safe Mode with Networking to see if they find anything?
