hi guys.. i recently bought a new PC and this is the problem that i am having.. most of my files from my previous PC was kept in my external HDD and when i tried to copy them from the HD... the PC will hang.. but this occurs at random.. sometimes if lucky, i get to transfer like few gigs of files over.. sometimes i need to restart my PC a couple of times to get all the files transferred.. i wonder what is wrong with my PC as i have no problem with other USB devices.. i also tried using the same HDD with other PC.. but the HD is fine.. what is wrong with my PC... has this got to do with insufficient power supply unit? any input is welcome!
Do you have it plugged into a USB 2.0 port? It sounds like a rate of transfer problem, to me. But, I have been wrong before.
