I currently have an internal dvd burner installed on my pc. worked fine for months and today the computer isnt reading that its installed. any ideas i'm going nuts?????
is there an exclamation mark in device manager & is there an error code?? does the computer see the drive?
I am having the same problem. In device manager I do have an exclamation mark, no error code. My drive is NOT seen in 'my computer' but is recognized in the BIOS. Now what??? I have unplugged it from the mobo and rebooted, then pulugged it back in and rebooted to see it would be seen as new hardware. No change! Any suggestions?
uninstall the drive or the ide port that has the exclamation mark in device manager than restart windows so it can load the driver for that device.
I unistalled the drivers through device manager, restarted my computer and it still won't see a drive letter and still has the exclamation mark in the device manager. Is it a lost cause???
I just love it when people ask a question and don't come back to respond to the help attempts, in response to the the original question.
My HDD is on the primary IDE and my CD/DVD is in the secondary IDE. They each are set for cable select. One device per IDE slot.
