Computer E machine: T3092 http://www.amazon.com/eMachines-T3092-Desktop-Athlon-CD-ROM/dp/B0002I9OK2 I one day started up my computer and the internal system beep started to go off, after trying many times to find out one, changing the battery on the motherboard but to no avail, the BIOS doesn't even pop up, can someone please help?
moved to correct forum as not a windows software issue. how many sticks of ram do you have so you can try 1 at a time to see what happens? try clearing the cmos as have found that to work sometimes to kickstart a stubborn system? are you using onboard video or a videocard?
oh my apologies, well there is only 1 stick of ram inside, im not sure how to clear cmos, and i didn't install and video cards so its an onboard video? Edit: if the cmos battery were dead would that maybe be the problem? I'm not sure if it is or not
dead cmos battery would not cause that problem. can you borrow some ram that is compatible with your system to see what happens?
You didn't change anything else...so why would you think the problem was related to changing something? Something burned out...no surprise for an eMachines system. If you can borrow some test parts, then you might want to...but don't waist any money on diagnostics for that system; it simply isn't worth the money.
Try using in a piece of ram that you know works. If you have more than one stick already, then you could try running it with just one stick, then with just the other stick.
