I heard about overclocking my video card (Geforce 6200 NV44), and tried to but it hasn't worked out. I followed a few guides which were a couple years old, ans used RivaTuner. So i changed a few settings, then changed the clock and memory speeds in Nvidia Performance so my video card could run faster. But the settings wouldnt stay applied even after clicking apply, and then rebooting. So i set aside the overclocking idea for a little bit. Over the past few days, my computer has been freezing a lot. It freezes when i watch a movie, or play games. I have no choice but to reboot my computer. And sometimes my screen will just go black and come on about 5 seconds later. It is really annoying. This all happened after i tried to overclock my video card. So i downloaded SpeedFan and here's an image. It shows a flame symbol next to the GPU and Core. Does it mean that it is overheating? And why do all these things happen now, after i tried overclocking? I uninstalled everything that had to do with overclocking video cards on my computer (RivaTuner, Nvidia Performance). Is the freezing related to the temperature of my PC? Is there something i can do to fix these problems? Thanks
moved to correct forum as not a windows issue. check this link about overclocking. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/83263
Alright, i did a desperate thing and removed my floppy drive from my computer! I am trying to cool it down... When opened, i tried to air out my computer a little. I started up my computer and in SpeedFan, the temperatures of the GPU and Core decreased. But it still has a fire symbol next to the GPU. So my question: My other computer's temperatures are around 10-30. Is it possible to take a fan out, and put it in my current one with the problems? I don't know what a computer fan looks like so if possible, is there a guide, and is it somewhat easy? Thanks
