hello, I am wondering if this would be a decent gaming set up? thanks alot ---Sunbeam Transformer Black steel ATX full tower case.Has 3 80mm blue led fans, 1 120mm fan, very roomy, ---Gigabyte P-35 motherboard ---ATI Radeon Sapphire 4870 512 ddr5 ---640GB 7200RPM Western Digital HDD, ---4GB 4-4-4-12 Timing ddr2 Ram, 1 mushkin stick, 3 patriot sticks.800mhz. ---550W corsair VX power supply. ---E8400 wolfdale processor, ---Samsung 20x drive, can burn cd's dvd's etc.
P35 motherboards are old now, and probably not the best for your money unless you're buying second hand. Get a P45 board like the EP45-UD3R. Nothing wrong with the rest of the components except the case, which is a bit on the mediocre side for cooling, design and build quality. You will need a well ventilated case to run the HD4870. I would recommend you buy an NZXT Tempest instead.
