computer restarts by itself

    can someone help me?
    sometimes i do my work and it can get lost and stuff
    is there a way to stop this from happening?

    do u have automatic updates on after updating it will usally restart itself to finish the task thats if you have XP SP2 it happends to me when im in the middle of virus scan before i go to bed if thats not it i would search for a virus that may be on your pc. hope that helps :)

    it always restarts
    when the winxp logo is on it restarts
    if im lucky then i can use my comp
    but thats once in a while

    How old is the PC?
    Have you ever had any issues with the power supply?

    I would start at the power supply once you have eliminated all Software/Windows update possibilities.

    Sometimes if a power supply is going, not enough of the rail voltages present will trigger a reboot.

    it may also be a piece of spy ware several spyware apps cause lockout and restart issues because it over loads task manager with tons and tons of bogus apps and causes system crashes run ad-aware free edition
