Hey, I'm completely illiterate when it comes to computers so if anyone is kind enough to reply, please speak slloooowly I've been playing a region1 dvd on my laptop (on power dvd), thinking that, like my PC, region changing would be unlimitated...Not so! My region changer thing has timed out, so it's now only letting me play american DVD's, which is....slightly annoying, to say the least! reading about this I know that not even reinstalling windows will change this so is there aaaanyway I can change it back to being region 2 compatible? I'd be really greatful if anyone knows anything about this Thanks, Kay.
remove your email address coz you will get into trouble with the mods, just edit the post and remove it
Well actually I had that problem too but it was very easy to solve, you have to get an RPC1 firmware for you drive (Rpc1 gives you the option to change infinitely the region) so look in this web page http://forum.rpc1.org for a rpc1 firmware upgrade for your drive, flash it, and then change the region the times you want Hope it helps ;-)
@paztelu - good call and well put. i do this on every drive i buy, and i only buy a drive if i know i can get region free firmware beforehand
hey creaky mine comes up you only have 4 more tries before its locked. So i just close it down, run Anydvd and its sweet.
naw, never had a problem, i've always done the region free thing. once it' set it never needs doing again, or any of that region free software, or paid software like anydvd. 'paid' - does not compute lol
use somethin like AnyDVD or DVD43 if someone would inform me about what this firmware is id be much appreciated, i looked at the site and just freaked out, so if you could help me...
@Phantom69 - if you're saying you want to know what region-free firmware you need for your drive(s) - download Nero info-tool from here - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/neroinfo.html Run it, note down the following, and paste here. Here's what mine shows - click on the drive tab, note down the firmware version If you have more than one drive click on the dropdown box at top left of info-tool
i'd buy ANYDVD now that a certain other product has been shutdown. I wonder if buying anydvd will become an offense though
i guess it'd be best to [bold]stock[/bold] [bold]up[/bold] now that there is so much raiding going on. so download DVD43 and other such useful software before time runs out...
c'mon creaky buddy, do i really have to *nudge* u again??? hehe...anydvd has been the best investment i have yet to make on software~ and since everyone knows the story about the laws in antigua...we all should be good for awhile~ it's a great program and i would recommend it to anyone like i recommend TY as media~ yes, it's THAT good LOL
lmao. i'll probably cave in eventually if new protections come out, but shrink & decrypter are still my bestest friends
@creaky It is time for you to expand your horizons and cozy up to AnyDVD, one of the best purchases I made, not only does it work for DVD's but it cracks the protection on CD's. You can have more than two best friends :~)
lol, but i can copy any type of CD so far without AnyDVD I used to buy software like it was going out of fashion, but most of it just got dusty so i minimalise more and more as time goes on.
